Desert Rose Flower

This natural-feeling desert flower is made of gypsum (selenite) and barite, with sand inclusions. The petals are created by crystals forming along gypsum’s characteristic cleavage planes. The form of desert rose was made in arid conditions by evaporation of shallow salt basing over millions of years. New Mexico, white sands, represents an oasis of gypsum sand dunes mainly created by evaporation of Lake Lucero. Each set comes with one such “flower”, allowing you to carry it close to you for protection and to bring the energetic qualities of the minerals with you wherever you move. It measures approximately 1 ½” in diameter.
